Take a tour of the most iconic American Desserts! Menu consists of: Florida Key Lime Pie, Texas Sheet Cake, Maine Blueberry Pie, Minnesota Seven Layer Bars, Mississippi Mud Pie, Pennsylvania Amish Whoopie Pies, Wyoming Cowboy Cookies & More! This is an 8 class series baking class that meets for 1.5 hours each time (12 hrs total). Kids will learn how to make different pastry crusts from scratch, custard vs. fruit fillings, dessert bars vs. cookies, using cocoa vs. chocolate, creaming butter, whipping cream, working with phyllo dough, beating, mixing, folding blending, frostings, glazes, icings, piping bags, how not to over/under bake, over mix/handle your baked item, ingredient substitutions, & personalizing recipes. Groceries list, basic kitchen equipment, & zoom link will be emailed prior to class. This class will require a hand or stand mixer. Siblings that work as 1 team, on 1 computer, with 1 set of ingredients are free. No Class 2/18.
